Sculpture to St Cuthbert

  • Description

"In 2003 Newcastle City Council won a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower show for their garden based on the Lindisfarne Gospels. The gardens were re-created on Lindisfarne and this sculpture forms a focal point. 'The fragmented journey of the body of Cuthbert, carried to his final resting place in Durham by the Lindisfarne Monks is represented by the broken wheel of the sculpture' " Photo by Lisa Jarvis, 2007.
