Swinegate, Kirkby Lonsdale
-
Description
"This square was once the site where pigs and coal were marketed. In the centre of the square is the town’s old market cross (http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5998453). Across the road are the nineteenth century police station, courthouse and lock-up where local justice was administered. This cobbled square is now protected by the District Council as an important part of the town’s conservation area. (see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5998455)" Photo by David Dixon, 2018. -
