Minor road crossing Abbey Bridge

  • Description

"Abbey Bridge is a fine structure with a high arch above the River Tees, close to Egglestone Abbey which is on the outskirts of Barnard Castle. Although the road is a narrow and minor one, it's forced to carry an unreasonable number of heavy goods vehicles heading south or north to or from the A66, as such lorries are banned from using the main road route, A688, through Barnard Castle."
