North East Coast Exhibition, 1929

The North East Coast Exhibition was a world fair which ran from May to October 1929. It was held in Newcastle in what is now Exhibition Park and was opened by the Prince of Wales on the 14th of May 1929. Over 4 million people attended the exhibition by the time it closed on the 26th October 1929.[1] Some of the Art Deco style buildings constructed for the exhibition can still be seen today - notably, the 'Palace of Arts' building, which is now Wylam Brewery.
