Middle Engine Lane
Middle Engine Lane is a road in North Tyneside which runs south from Norham Road in Murton/West Chirton (North Shields), past Silverlink, to Battle Hill (Wallsend). The road is named after the Middle Engine, which was a stationary steam engine on Seaton Burn Waggonway, built in the 19th century, to pull wagons up the hill from staiths at Percy Main.
