Manchester Street, Morpeth
Manchester Street runs east from Newgate Street through to Well Way in the centre of Morpeth. In 1871 a Primitive Methodist chapel was built in the street; it closed in 1964 when the congregation merged with and relocated to Howard Terrace (the old chapel is now used by Co-operative Funeral Care). A Wesleyan Chapel was also built on the Manchester Street in 1884, the building later the Boy's Brigade Headquarters. No. 1, Manchester Street, by the junction with Newgate Street, is a cottage dating from the early 18th century - a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England. No. 8, a house from the early 19th century, is also a Grade II listed building.
