Gerrick, Redcar and Cleveland

Gerrick (aka Girreck) is a distributed hamlet in Redcar and Cleveland, located about 1½ miles south-east of Moorsholm and 3½ miles south of Loftus. Historically, Girreck was part of the township of Moorsholm, in the ancient parish of Skelton, North Riding of Yorkshire. Today, there is High Farm, High Farm Cottage (holiday let), and Osbourn House Farm. There are also the disused buildings of Grange Farm. To the south is Gerrick Moor, on which there are earthwork remains of Late Neolithic or Late Bronze Age settlement. To the north is Pinkney and Gerrick Woods, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
