Flemish bond brickwork


'Flemish bond' is a pattern of brickwork which features bricks laid lengthwise (stretchers) alternating with bricks laid with their shorter ends exposed (headers), often with different colouring. It is a common feature in Georgian architecture, though not exclusive to that period.
