Farney Shield is a farm in West Allen, Northumberland. Whellan's 1855 directory of Northumberland lists Farney Shield under the grievship of High West Allen, in the ancient parish of Allendale, and the farmers at that time were Elizabeth Jackson and Martin Jackson. Today, Farney Shield is part of West Allen Civil Parish.
