Dyke House Sports and Technology College

Dyke House Sports and Technology College is located on Mapleton Road in the Dyke House area of Hartlepool. The college has about 1,230 students aged 11 to 19.[1] The school was originally built as Dyke House Secondary Modern School in 1939, though it didn't officially open until 1946, after the Second World War (however, it was used as an infants school during the war because Brougham School, the then an infants school, had been commandeered for use by the Home Guard). In 1973 the school became Dyke House Comprehensive School.[2] Dyke House Sports and Technology College converted to academy status in May 2013 In January 2012 a new building opened following a £12.4m redevelopment as part of the Building Schools for the Future scheme. The existing school building was extensively remodelled, including some old classrooms knocked through to create large open-plan teaching areas.[3,4] As Dyke House Sports and Technology College, the school converted to academy status in May 2013.

Dyke House Sports and Technology College (formerly Dyke House Comprehensive School) is a coeducational secondary school located in Hartlepool, County Durham, England.

Previously a foundation school administered by Hartlepool Borough Council, Dyke House Sports and Technology College converted to academy status in May 2013. The school is now part of the Northern Education Trust but continues to coordinate with Hartlepool Borough Council for admissions.

Dyke House Sports and Technology College offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils. The school also has specialisms in sports and technology.
