The Cookson Building of the Medical School at Newcastle University is named in honour of the late Dame Catherine Cookson, who was a patron of the University.

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
