Burradon, 1890

Burradon, or Brierlean, is a very small township, now in the parish of Killingworth, and was separated from Earsdon in 1892, is about 2 ¾ miles north-east from Killingworth station on the North Eastern railway. The area is 545 acres; rateable value, £3,754; the population in 1891 was 1,156.

Board School (formerly Colliery School), Burradon (mixed), built in 1861, for 500 children; average attendance, 380.
