Post 2016: the Parish Council of Archdeacon Newton was abolished 1st April 2016, replaced by a parish meeting.[1] At that time, Archdeacon Newton parish boundary changed to the line of the A1(M). i.e. the area east of the A1(M), which included new housing developments in Darlinton, ceased to form part of a parished area.
