Ridge and furrow south of Landshot (Elsdon)

Description
Well-preserved ridge and furrow of medieval character survives south of Landshot. Further expanses of well-preserved ridge and furrow can be seen on lidar imagery within this km sq, as can other places where medieval fields have been overlain (and in some places obliterated) by later ploughing. In some places what appear to be substantial medieval earthwork field boundaries are now overlain by present-day field walls (eg north-west of Landshot Glebe Cottage). An interesting medieval and post-medieval field system that would justify more detailed survey..... -
