The Brass Foundry
-
Description
The print gives a view on the central bay of the Brass Foundry. The side bays, which are the same size as the central one can be seen through the columns, giving a good idea of the modern equipment of this Foundry. In the foreground can be seen Cradles for Gun Mountings cast in Elswick Bronze. We are delighted to share images from the 15 Photographic Folios we hold at the City Library, ships built by Armstrong, Mitchell, Whitworth and Company Ltd. between 1880 and 1931. These images are, to the best of our knowledge, in the public domain. You are welcome to use them in any way you like – we would love it if you could say you got them from the Newcastle City Library Photographic Collection. We are unable to provide High Quality Digital copies of these images. -
