Hartford Hall

Hartford Hall is a large country house located by Hartford Bridge near Bedlington in Northumberland. The Hall was built in 1807 by William Stokoe for William Burdon (1764–1818), a local mine owner and liberal philosopher. Substantial alterations were made to the building in 1875 for Augustus Burdon [1]. The Hall was later used as a Miners' Rehabilitation Centre, but was converted to luxury flats by 2004 [2]. The Hall is a Grade II* listed building on the National Heritage List for England. The ornate wrought ron gates to the Hall are separately listed.
